Tracy became proficient in dialects as a way of booking acting work. She’s been cast in many projects both on screen and in VO. I coach actors and non-actor professionals to speak spoken English with whatever accent they desire – British, German, Australian, Swahili, Scottish – you name it, I teach it.
Learning a dialect is learning mouth placement. Lips, tongue, teeth, palate all play a huge role in creating the correct sound. Musicality, intonation, linking sound changes and the culture of the language from which the dialect comes, also play a huge role in creating a believable character with an accent. I get you up to speed on all that too. I can even help you create your own dialect for character voices.
I received formal training in speech and theater from UCLA and from years of working in professional film, television, radio and theater.
