Born and raised in Arcadia, California, a lush territory adventurer Lucky Baldwin purchased and called “paradise” ten years after the Civil War, Tracy is a close relative of famous cowboy Wyatt Earp. In fact, Earp and Baldwin were friendly. Earp even married his wife Josephine on Baldwin’s yacht.
How exactly is Tracy related to Wyatt Earp? Well, Wyatt had an uncle who had a daughter who is Tracy’s great grandmother.
Tracy’s great grandmother and Wyatt were cousins, and she passed down stories of playing with young Wyatt as kids.
Tracy’s father dreamed of being an actor. Both of her parents lived in Hollywood for a time and stories were passed on about rubbing elbows with the likes of Cesar Romero, Charles Bickford, Jeffrey Hunter, Ruby Keeler – plus musicians Les Paul, Mary Ford and Art Tatum.
While her father ended up a judge, appointed by Ronald Reagan, Tracy decided to take a try at performing as well. She earned a slot as host of a KPCC FM 89.3 radio program she also created called The Subtle Silhouettes of Swing while still very young. She soon went on to become an on-camera SAG/AFTRA actress – appearing in plays, TV, film and commercials. Credits include Shameless, The Vampire Diaries, Torchwood, Touched by an Angel, SLC Punk! and Chuck. Tracy Pfau’s favorite on-camera acting role might’ve been playing the mean-spirited homesteader, Mrs. Bouchie, (aka Mrs. Brewster in the Laura Ingalls Wilder book called These Happy Golden Years) in the TV Film Beyond the Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Wanting to branch out in other areas, Tracy worked hard to develop her craft as a voice-over artist. With a background in film acting, she’s since provided voices for animated movies, video games, celebrity impressions, ADR, commercials, documentaries, audio books, book trailers, movie trailers, toys, radio imaging, in store videos, VOs for apps in mobile devices, promos, training videos, phone messaging, amusement parks, and even educational & creative podcasts. Having an excellent ear for language and mouth placement, Tracy is an expert of global dialects, can speak several languages with script, teaches dialect reduction/dialect acquisition and works with aspiring VO talent producing their demos and teaching. She has the expert technical skills required to run her VO business.
She’s married to the love of her life, actor/writer Stephen Jared. Animal lovers both, they share a house filled with felines and beasts with names like Clara Belle and Oreo.
